Trains!

Trains are fun to watch and learn about. My son and I love to watch trains. My grandfather worked on the railroad and my father worked on the tracks when he was in college. I remember many stories about the trains. Now whenever I get the chance, I take some pictures of trains.

New pictures from Prescott, WI rising train bridge and Red Wing, MN.

Pictures from Chicago, Rochelle, IL - where there is a mainline double x crossing; Alma and Trempealeau, WI.

Pictures from the latest trip to the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, PA. Also pictures from the Altoona station and a train ride to New York City.

The Burlington Northern Santa Fe line runs through Fargo, ND; here are some pictures.

A trip to San Diego included a side trip to Campo, CA to see the museum and ride the train.

Here are some pictures of different trains around the Midwest including Kearney, NE. Also some pictures around the Harper's Ferry area in West Virginia. See a train wreck in Vermillion, SD from February 1999!

Below are some train pictures of the 1880 Train in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The 1880 train is a tourist train that runs from Hills City to Keystone. The route winds up and through the Black Hills. It is one hour each way and pulled by this steam engine. A very scenic and enjoyable ride.
