This play, Trips Three Middle, is sey up with three receivers on one side of the field. Each receiver runs a different pattern. One may go long, one medium and one over the middle on a crossing route.It makes it hard for the defense to cover three receivers on one side of the field. The defense must move their cornerbacks around too much. One of the three receivers is open and the quarterback has to see which one and get him the ball.
