The West Coast Offense is one of the current styles of
offense. This offensive strategy uses short quick passes, passes
to the tight end and minimal running plays. The offense tries to
move the ball down the field by mixing up different pass routes,
passing to a variety of receivers and running the ball from
passing sets.
Many teams in
the NFL use this style including Green Bay, San Francisco, New
England and Philadelphia. Here are some plays using the West
Coast Offense:

Teams
use different terminology for each play but the formations and play results
are the same. Note in each play all the different options the quarterback has.
He can throw to four or even five different receivers. Brett Favre of the Green
Bay Packers has perfected this offense, in the 1996 season he threw touchdown
passes to nine different receivers!
